Magnetic stirrers are used in chemical and biological experiments. It is typically used for stirring liquids without any mechanical device. The magnetic stirrers help stir the liquid faster and make no noise in doing so. The only limitations of these stirrers is, they cannot do this for larger quantities, and thicker liquids. The benefits are more suitable for lab environments where they deal with lesser quantities and less viscous liquids, since glass apparatus is used it will give a clear visibility as how the stirring is taking place and and will not cause any pressure on the glass to break.
They are quite efficient for quantities less than four litres of liquid. The magnetic stirrers come in all sizes and they very easy to clean and reuse each time. The magnetic stirrers do not contain any lubricants for functioning hence will not contaminate the liquid that has to be stirred. The magnetic stirrer may contain a hot plate inside it to heat the liquid while stirring. The magnetic stirrers are more preferred over the motorised stirrers which are prone to wear and tear over a period of time. Since glass apparatus is used for lab experiments, it will not interfere with the magnetic field that is created and the stirring will be unhindered.
